Newt Gingrich shocks the world again by stating facts!

Newt Gingrich might be a Capitalist, So

Socialists and pro-terror groups unite against him

About half-way through a 20-minute interview, in response to “Now on Israel, Do you consider yourself a Zionist?” Mr. Gingrich said the following:

“I believe that the Jewish people have the right to have a state, and I believe that the commitments that were made at a time…remember there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire. And I think that we’ve had an invented Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs, and were historically part of the Arab community. And they had a chance to go many places. And for a variety of political reasons we have sustained this war against Israel now since the 1940’s, and I think it’s tragic.”  (See entire transcript – he made some other very important and true statements about US policy in the Middle East.)

That statement was about 1/15th of the interview.  Most headlines in America included the words outraged, attack, and invented (over and over) and accuse Mr. Gingrich of denying Palestinians right to a sovereign state.

Fact check list:

1.  “There was no Palestinian state.”  True.

2,  “They are Arab and historically part of the Arab community.”  True.

3.  “Had many places to go.”  True.

4.  “[w]e’ve had an invented Palestinian people.”  A poor choice of words, yes, but they do reflect an essentially accurate description of the situation.  True.

5.  Mr. Gingrich said many pro-Israel and pro-America things that highlight the contrast between Israel’s “let us live in peace” approach to the ‘peace process’ and many Palestinian’s “death to Israel” approach.  True.

6.   Mr. Gingrich said, insinuated or implied that Palestinians have no right to a sovereign state or homeland.  False.

7.  Lots of people are outraged by Mr. Gingrich’s comments.  True.

Like most (I didn’t say all) of the ‘outrageous’ and easily (ergo often) misconstrued statements Mr. Gingrich makes, these have the added benefit of being truthful statements.  The one thing he did NOT say becomes the basis for outrage over the truthful things he did say.  George Orwell, call your shrink.

Makes me wonder:  Why does the truth bother so many people when it comes out of Newt Gingrich’s mouth.  Could it be they fear that he has enough knowledge and power to destroy the system that made him rich?  Could they fear that he has learned that freedom has a chance if, and only if, someone dismantles completely the systems of privilege and entitlement that pass for a government in DC?  His critics rely on a system that enriches the powerful while imprisoning the weak and poor in a life of dependence, and I think they fear he might be willing to say so.  I hope so, soon, please, damn it Newt!

It will be a bad day for Harry Reid, Karl Rove, George Will, Peggy Noonan, Nancy Pelosi, David Axlerod and lots and lots of other Washington, DC parasites IF (God willing and the creek don’t rise) someday Newt Gingrich, a former parasite himself, exposes them all as part of an elite governing class that sanctions theft and plunder on a massive scale by supporting an extra-Constitutional agenda that every two years will eek out electoral wins and perpetuate their meal ticket.

“The fundamental principle of socialism is that its is appropriate to use force to organize society, to take from some and give to others. The government has nothing to give. The government is simply a mechanism which has the power to take from some to give to others. It is a way in which some people can spend other peoples’ money for the benefit of a third party – and not so incidentally themselves”.

— The Invisible Hand in Economics and Politics, Milton Friedman, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, 1981, p11

It’s the Socialists who are against Newt Gingrich, because they fear him.
