Has Newt given up?

Small government.  Individual freedom.  Free markets.

Wouldn’t we expect Mr. Gingrich to be faithful to a few (I think a fair minimum is those 3) of the foundational components of this thing we call America?  Or has immersion in government’s culture and crowd, has living in the cocoon that is Washington, DC deafened him?

The Wall Street Journal has an opinion.

Mr Gingrich has decided that political control of the allocation of the nation’s resources, in this case corn, is a good thing – at least while he’s campaigning in Iowa.  This isn’t political pandering.  It’s the way Washington-bound operators think inside their cocoon.

We can do better.
